I grew up in Minnesota where we bought an white American onion cheese from the local creamery. I have been trying to find it now for years. I’ve tried dozens of onion cheeses from lots of different cheese makers. Most are highly processed like a velveeta style and that’s not at all what I am looking for. Others are sharp cheddar or other too hard cheeses. This Jack cheese is so close to the savory onion flavor! It’s really very good. The Jack texture is the only difference. Jack is a bit more firm than a high quality white American cheese. I’ll definitely order this again .. until I find this flavor in the white American cheese.
